My listening distance is pretty close to the speakers, and for my application, the H34S drives my scm19 to a very satisfactory volume. I've even tried blasting it to a level wherein its too loud for me, and i get no distortion whatsoever at all.
Oh, and its 45wx2. And i heard these new atc scm are way easier to drive than last gen scm.
The Bass is abit lacking(not much, just a wee bit) i must admit, but my preference of music does not require too much bass. I've actually also considered the 88, has slighly more power, but it's more solid state sounding, defeating the whole purpose of a tube amp imo.
The H34S is my 1st tube electronics, sorta buying it to test out if i can live with a tube gear for extended period.....well, I'm loving it (tho i've just had it for around 2 weeks..hehe). Im absolutely astonished with the quality fit and finish of a china made amplifier too, its top notch!
As u can see, i also mentioned i'll be upgrading in the future to monoblocks, thus hinting that i want more solid bass a bit more;P I'm sorta targeting the setup of the guy who owns the B&W 802, him bi- amping them speakers with 4 monoblocks.....i think that will take me sometime to save up tho..haha.
