"反戰""渴望和平"，相信只有陷於戰爭中的人民百姓才會明白箇中的悲慘感受，正如這曲的開始便道出兒子被徵召參軍，肉搏沙場，召集入伍的軍笛聲催趕著集合，骨肉分離在即，身為父母的只能祈望兒子能平安歸來，但戰事卻延綿不知到何時，待兒子歸來時父母可能已歸塵土，但父母的希望依然不減，歌詞的尾段兩句[you'll come back and find the place i am lying, and knee and say an ave there for me],正正引證父母縱然身於黃泉，仍然冀望著見到孩兒能平安回家前來拜祭，方能如願安息！可惜的一個事實是：縱使這類歌曲不斷提醒為政者，但人類自相殘殺之事仍是一幕一幕地重現，無奈吧！
